House update.

Spent some time at the Gothic Revival house I have been working on. I have spent a great deal of time working with the mason on all the brick details and the precast parts. I finally got a chance to see some of it installed. The pictures make the brick look very RED. In reality its not that red. Its very gratifying to see your drawings become a reality. The chimneys posed a particular problem it that we wanted it to be divided into to stacks at the top. The contractor spent a lot of time with the engineers to make sure that it would work. The end result is very close to what we originally wanted with a little of me worked in there. I added the shadow box details and all the dental type trim. We had some limitation with the brick. in the we can not step it out as much as we wanted. Due to the hand made nature of the brick, it has a hallow recess ob the bottom of the bricks. If you step out to far you expose that hollow under side. All in all I am VERY happy with how the brick is turning out. We could not have asked for a better mason. He has truly made it look old.

Thanks for showing us the pics of the house. It's absolutely beautiful and I'm sure the owners are going to be thrilled when it's completed - great job.

It's beautiful...like others have said...can't wait to see finished product. There's something about older homes that I love...they had so much character...now days they seem so bland.
