More inspiration

I found some pictures from Thanksgiving 2004 to give you some more table inspiration.
We used the same burlap table cloth, only that year I took some rolls of brown shipping paper and chopped them on the table saw to narrow widths. We ran them across the table for place mats. This was great for keeping the gravy off the table cloth. Then ran a small strip down the center weaving them in and out of the cross pieces. By that year my sisters and I had collected enough Ruby glass dinnerware between the three of us, to cover the family. I stamped the napkins with a large tiole stamp. We used small bowls of fresh cranberries with candle for the centerpieces. I gathered fall leaves and dipped them in wax to lay on the table. There ya go, Thanksgiving 2004

ooh, pretty. I wish I could get that many family members together for Thanksgiving. My family has managed to scatter all over the place....everyone of us were born and raised in Ohio...I think I have 2 relatives left there. We're still working on getting them to move down south with the rest of us (well, most of us between Georgia and Florida), much warmer here. Well, sorta, today it's the high temp will be 66 degrees...yes, I know, for those that don't live in the south, that's nothing. Beautiful table setting.

Totally awesome Derek. Although I will never feed a crowd that big at my table (neither table nor dining room will support it), the idea would work great for smaller gatherings as well. :)

Well, aren't you just the crafty one? I love all the red tableware and your idea of the rolls of paper used as placemats is very unique. What a wonderful time you all must have!

Yeah, what they said... your blog is really fun. I was so excited that you were a Halloween fan, but now it seems that you just have that kind of zeal for life and creativity! Blessings!

Talk about making something from nothing...you so proved it doesn't take much to create a gorgeous display!!

OK, you're killing me, I need more details, details on the waxing of the leaves. I've used a glue covering in the past, but I'm thinking your wax method probably makes a better preservation!

Just found your blog and I certainly will be a returning fan!!
