I ran across this old Photo from our first fall in this house. I had planted a lot of pumpkins and gourds and was very proud of my harvest. Note the Ivy on the chimney. Now look at this recent photo. The Ivy has taken over. It looks very charming. Its going to kill me to remove it to paint the house. 
This is the house just before we moved in in oct 2000.
Here it is now. Old houses never seem to age. They have achieved the status of "old" long ago and they maintain that honor.

I love your house! I love old farm houses. Your leaves are so pretty right now. Where I live, we have had so much hot, dry weather that our leaves have simple shriveled up and turned brown. I don't think that we will have the beautiful colors this year. Fall is typically my favorite time of year, but it does not even feel like Fall here. I am glad I got a little taste of it through your photos.

LOL Ivy here in Denmark is called the murmesters ven. (the bricklayers friend) it hides all of the cracks in the brick) =) Good luck painting over that. You really shouldnt have ivy near your house, it wrecks the wood-brick-any surface. but then well what the heck do i know. its just what ive been told. hey! dont kill the messenger!
Love the house, Derek, but man-oh-man, I love your trees!!! I think if I had that out my front window during the fall, I'd spend all my time beneath it looking up. How was the pumpkin/gourd harvest this year??
